Environmental and Ice Control System
Airplanes with high-altitude performance capabilities permit higher cruising speeds and allow their pilots to avoid many adverse weather situations. However, hazardous physiological conditions are likely to be encountered unless the airplane is equipped with an oxygen or pressurization system. Ice control systems further increase flight safety in the event icing conditions are encounter.
Course Objectives
- Understand how the Environmental and Ice control systems function, control inputs, and the effects each will have on the airplane.
- Learn the internal components that will allow for better troubleshooting and problem identification.
- Identify The main systems found on the majority of commercial aircraft. This includes the primary system that enables airplanes to fly at higher altitudes and control ice accumulation around the fuselage.
